Wall Series (2008-2009)
The series, Holes On the Wall and Woven Walls, are made from deconstructing drywall until I end up with a paper sheet that is essentially a painted wall on paper.
Holes On the Wall are a reaction to constantly patching, sanding and painting my studio walls. I began to construct holes out of paper to hang on my wall in an effort to produce what I was trying to erase.
Cutting, kicking and tearing intuitively is how I achieved the holes but my latest holes are geometric in form. I began to think of what my intentions were to create holes on the wall. Since the Holes were not in the wall but on the wall, I had the ability to manipulate the hole into a defined shape such as quadrangle.
